Bio

Libraries and dusty garages have always been two of my favorite places since childhood. They have always felt full of mystery and wonder, since I never knew what I would find there just around the next corner. My studio recreates that feeling of joy, discovery, and possibilities.

BirdI love books with a passion, and only use very old books that would have otherwise been discarded in my artwork. I don't have it in my heart to destroy a pristine book that might still have some life in it. I think of my work as “useful re-purposing” –creating a second life for the text and images and found objects that I rescue. But I also find myself getting lost in the text as I create with it, and frequently find that my artwork is held up as I read my art materials.

MusicI use only original materials, no photocopies or computer reproduced materials. Each item is unique and one-of-a kind, since I don't produce prints or limited editions. The tactile nature of the materials just don't reproduce well. For example, I frequently include feathers that I find on my daily walks in my artwork and even though a picture may be worth a thousand words, nothing compares to the real thing.

I am happy to create customized pieces to your specifications. From a special color combination or a theme for a special person, or customized text or message within a card, your satisfaction is important to me and I'd love to discuss your thoughts.

A self-taught artist, I live and work in Connecticut with my family and two beagles.
